Pakistan has unlocked another architectural achievement by constructing a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in the port city of Balochistan, called Gwadar.
Among the areas where the government of Balochistan has concentrated all its efforts is the building of different sports complexes across Balochistan. Gwadar stadium is also a result of those efforts.
Development work on 33 different sports-related projects has been initiated. Upon completion, the places help in encouraging and facilitating the youth of Balochistan to engage in cricket and other sports-related activities.
Brief History of Gwadar Cricket Stadium
Situated against the stunning backdrop of mountains, the beautiful and scenic Gwadar stadium was inaugurated on 14 November 2020. The cricket stadium was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Balochistan Mr. Jam Kamal Khan. Gwadar stadium is also known as Senator Muhammad Ishaq Baloch Cricket Stadium.
ICC in Awe of Gwadar Cricket Stadium
International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently shared multiple iconic pictures of Gwadar stadium on its social media platforms. Every cricket fan can see that ICC is simply in awe of this newly built cricket stadium near the shores of Gwadar port in Balochistan.
International Cricket Council (ICC) posted the pictures of Gwadar stadium with the following caption:
“Show us a more picturesque sports venue than the Gwadar stadium in Balochistan. We’ll wait…”
How Gwadar Stadium Got Limelight
The 45-year old Pakistani celebrity and cricket enthusiast named Fakhr-e-Alam uploaded numerous pictures and a video of the venue. While uploading the clip, Alam urged fans and travelers to go there and play cricket on the lush green ground.
Fakhre Alam tweeted: “To all #cricket playing friends everywhere in the world….come visit us…come play cricket with us here in Gawadar cricket ground….it’s the most beautiful cricket ground I have ever seen…”
Fakhr-e-Alam also urged and invited international cricketers to visit Pakistan and play cricket here; specifically at the Gwadar stadium.
Different Cricket Celebrities Appreciates Gwadar Stadium
Former Pakistani middle-order batsman, nephew of former legendary batsman Javed Miandad and current Head Coach of Balochistan Faisal Iqbal retweeted Fakhr-e-Alam’s tweet.
He specifically appreciated the image that depicts the mountain atop. Iqbal appreciated the stadium and said he will do his level best to find raw talent to play the sport.
Pakistan’s legendary left-arm fast bowler Wasim Akram also couldn’t resist praising the beauty of Gwadar cricket stadium. He replied to the tweet of Fakhr-e-Alam
“Wow, this is stunning. Got to be one of the prettiest ground in the world”
South African left-arm spinner Tbraiz Shamsi, who is currently in Pakistan for the 2-match test series and 3-match T20 series, replied to Fakhr-r-Alam tweet in a witty manner. He tweeted:
“Can we move the 3rd T20 to this place?
The 3 most beautiful surroundings for a cricket stadium for me would be Newlands, Dharamsala, and this place.
